Progress through a full-figure drawing
This is a four session full-figure drawing. 100% complete now. For fun, you can compare this to the first nude drawings that I did, of the same model.
Portrait Session
This was done over 2 sessions, 6 hours, using charcoal, charcoal pencils, and conte crayon. “Academic Drawing” short course at the Corcoran School in DC.
This is the first portrait I’ve ever done.
Nude Female 1
Technique was to rub the paper with charcoal and then smear the charcoal with paper towel, wiping away excess charcoal dust. Once the paper was saturated with charcoal dust, draw the contour, fill in the shading and blend, and then use the kneaded eraser to remove charcoal from areas where there were highlights.
Still life with giraffe
Homework assignment for my “Introduction to Drawing” class. (We have a 5′ tall beaded giraffe at home…)
